Thank you for your interest in advertising at HonestGamers! We receive proposals from potential advertisers all the time, and we're happy to hear from your company if there is the potential for synergy and good revenue. With that said, we typically limit on-site advertising relationships to a few merchant affiliate programs and a couple of ad networks such as Google and GamerDNA. Unless you're able to offer better stability and a substantial bump in revenue, we're probably not interested in your offer. If you're confident that you have an arrangement that we should know about, however, keep reading to learn more about the opportunity that HonestGamers represents for you and your business!

What is the site's intended demographic and what sort of traffic does it get?
Most information about demographic cannot easily be shared in public. We recommend that you check out Quantcast, where information about our demographic is directly measured.
We have no problem letting you know our traffic numbers (as measured by Google Analytics), either. In 2011, HonestGamers was visited 433,750 times. 328,002 unique visitors viewed the site and there were 1,174,389 total page impressions. That works out to just over 898 unique visitors daily. Assuming that the site continues to generate revenue and interest, we expect that number to climb in 2012. The greater our revenue, the greater the site's potential for growth.
Who can advertise on the site?
We make decisions on a case-by-case basis. In general, we're looking for partners who would like to sell a product or service that will be of interest to our demographic. As we see it, our audience is interested in lucrative things such as entertainment, credit cards, loans, education, automobiles, dating services and health insurance.
What sort of ads are permitted?
We typically accept only banner and Flash ads. Pop-up and interstitial ads are not permitted, nor are ads that make sound except in cases where ads feature content that users can click to hear or otherwise expand. We do not accept advertising that runs scripts to insert links throughout site text. Additionally, we will not advertise ROM sites, adult sites, gambling sites or those that contain hateful content and commentary. While we understand that sex sells, we also ask that your ads be appropriate for most professional work environments and educational institutions.
Where are my ads displayed and what are the size requirements?
In general, we offer two potential spaces for advertising. The primary space that advertisers typically consider is the most visible. Your ad can appear in the upper right corner of each page on the site. The space allowed is 300Wx250H, a common ad size that provides room to effectively promote your product or service. The site also features horizontal ads (468Wx60H) along the bottom of each page on the site (excluding user blogs). Please browse a few pages on the site to see if either ad size and placement is right for you.
What if I'm not happy with the amount of traffic my ads generate?
Unfortunately, all we can do is display the ads on our site, in accordance with the terms outlined on this page. If you find that the traffic you receive is not as significant as you anticipated, we apologize but can not refund your money because we tend to invest it in the site as soon as we receive it. Traffic that your ad receives can vary wildly for any number of factors outside of our control. Please remember that we do not compel our users to click on your ads. Your content should do the talking.
Will ads for games have any impact on site content?
If you are advertising an upcoming game release on our site, we appreciate your investment. However, placing an ad on the site does not guarantee that your product will be reviewed favorably, or even that it will be reviewed at all. If you want us to review your game, you will need to contact us directly and arrange to send us a copy of your software.
How much does an ad space cost?
You can find current promotions near the top of this page, or elsewhere on the site. The rate we charge depends on our traffic and we don't frequently update this page. Hit us up with a proposal (including the rate you're prepared to pay and some information about the type of ad you'd like to run) and we'll respond promptly if an agreeable arrangement seems likely.
