If you have a question that is not addressed on the page below, you should feel free to contact site staff or post about it on the forums. The latter option is preferred, since other users may be able to point you to an answer more quickly in some cases.
How do I activate my user blog?
Your user blog is activated the minute you click "My Blog" from any page on the main portion of the site. From that point onward, you're free to post in your blog as much or as little as you like as long as your associated account is active.
Are HTML tags allowed in my blog?
You are permitted to use HTML tags in your blog, provided they do not compromise the integrity of the site. Users commonly post links and pictures, which is just fine. If you're not familiar with HTML and you post content that disrupts the site, staff may modify your post without notice. If your HTML expertise proves lacking on a regular basis, you may be asked to avoid using it in the future.
What blog content is prohibited?
For the most part, we believe that your blog is your blog and that you should be able to use it to express your wonderful self. However, we cannot tolerate content that:
- Advocates illegal activity.
- Harasses or threatens other users on the basis of race, sexual orientation, religion or any other distinguishing features protected by law.
- Works around the site's design to serve material to users, particularly content that may prove damaging to their computers or software.
Additional content may also be prohibited. You are asked to please exercise common sense. If you post content that violates the above guidelines or the spirit in which they were intended, you may find various actions taken on your account (up to and including termination of said account).
How do I modify my blog's appearance?
You can alter numerous aspects of your blog's appearance if you click the "Settings" link in the "Options" bar near the top of your main blog page, then scroll down to the "Blog Appearance" header. It's possible there to change font color, background images and several other features that allow you to make your own blog distinct.
How do I modify or remove the right column?
The right column on your blog, which serves advertisements and also provides handy resources that allow your visitors to browse other blogs and content you may have posted on the site, can be removed quite easily if you click the "Settings" link in the "Options" bar near the top of your main blog page. On that page, simply scroll down to the "Blog Columns" header and indicate whether or not you wish for the column to appear. In that same approximate area, you can also modify what content appears in the column (if you leave it active) according to your personal needs.
