How do I change my custom title?
If you have a question that is not addressed on the page below, you should feel free to contact site staff or post about it on the forums. The latter option is preferred, since other users may be able to point you to an answer more quickly in some cases.
How do I locate game-specific forums?
The site is built so that any game in the database can have a forum if it is needed. Forums are created on the fly. Therefore, you'll find them only by indicating an interest in them. To do so, simply browse the site until you arrive on a game profile page. For example, let's say you wanted to find a forum for The Guy Game. You would browse the site until you found that game's profile page. There, you'll see the option to rate the game, located in the page's right column. Just below that is a link to visit the forum. Clicking the link will either take you to the forum (if one exists) or create a forum for that game so that people can then post related topics. Note that you may also find the forums through other means in some cases, but the one outlined above is the most common one.
At present, limited HTML use is permitted on the forums. They have been specifically coded to disable especially disruptive or insecure scripts, iframes and file embeds. Below is a list of the wide range of HTML tags that you may currently use.
<i>TEXT</i> = Italicize text
<b>TEXT</b> = Bold text
<u>TEXT</u> = Underline text
<s>TEXT</s> = Strike through text
<marquee>TEXT</marquee> = Scroll text horizontally
<center>TEXT</center> = Center text horizontally
<abbr>TEXT</abbr> = Assign pop-up descriptions to text
<hr> = Horizontal line
<ul> = Start unnumbered list
<li>TEXT</li> = List item
</ul> = End unnumbered list
<font>text</font> = Font color and size modifications
<a href="URL">TEXT</a> = Use text to link
<a href="URL"><img src="IMAGE_URL"></a> = Use image to link
<img src="IMAGE_URL"> = Display image
If you are using one of the above tags and it does not display properly, please keep in mind that modifications may be to blame. Check to ensure that your HTML appears as indicated above. Please remember also that an HTML tag's availability does not justify abuse. Moderators will remove messages that prevent other users from enjoying the forums and your account may be penalized.
In general, we ask that you avoid any content that:
You can modify your sig if you click the "Settings" link in the "Options" bar near the top of your main blog page, then scroll down to the "Site Options" header (right near the top). It's possible there to change your sig. Once you make the changes and submit, your new sig will automatically accompany any of your posts that are active on the forum.
How do I change my forum avatar?
You can change the little picture that accompanies your posts on the forum (called the avatar) by clicking on it when viewing one of your posts. This will bring up a page where you can first select the aspect ratio for your avatar (1:1 is the most common) and then choose an avatar from the listings. At present, there are over 700 to choose from. Just look through the listings and when you find one that you like, click on it. Immediately, that avatar will become your new avatar and will accompany all of your forum posts under the active user account.
How do I change my custom title?
To change the custom title that accompanies your posts (it appears below your avatar), just click on the current one. On the next screen, enter the new title you wish to use. Then submit and it will appear throughout the site whenever you post. Your existing posts will also display the revised title, of course.
