Now is a good time to stock up on energy and weapon tanks if you have some extra bolts sitting around. We're about to tackle Dr. Wily's stages. Select his ugly portrait from the middle of the stage select screen. Head right and take out the leader of the bird bots and the turret. Head inside. Before jumping down, take out the turret enemy, then you can use Rush Coil to reach the bolt behind him.
Continue right. Remember these guys? Take them out when they pop up and jump over their holes.
This is more like a tutorial than an obstacle. These moving platforms will spin uncontrollably when they hit the narrow parts of the tracks. You can only stand on them when they're not spinning, but the lights will go out as long as you're standing on them, meaning you'll have to remember where the narrow parts of the tracks are. Thunder Bolt won't create a flash to help you out this time. Try making your way across on these things, but if you fall, you can use Rush Coil to reach the exit of this area. Climb the ladders.
So dark! The lights go out as you're standing on the floor. Use the Super Adaptor's homing attack on the enemies in this room and jump whenever you need to see where the ground is. Watch the pits, and keep your distance from the fan enemies. These guys are what your homing attack is for. You can use Rush Coil to reach the 1up, or slide underneath to reach the health. (You'll have to remove the Super Adaptor first, either way.) Climb down the ladder at the far end, and hang from it to defeat the tire enemy from a safe spot. Use Rush Coil or the Super Adaptor to jump over the spikes and reach the high platform before dropping down.
This is where those moving platforms from before get tricky, because they're over a pit now. On top of that, the lights go out when you stand on them. This is a good place to use the Super Adaptor or even Rush Jet. Keep in mind that the platforms are solid, so they'll push you off Rush Jet if you fly into them. Take out the flying turret enemies as you go, manoeuvring along the moving platforms. Reach the far end and head up the ladder.
More of these things. No Rush Jet shortcut this time. Use the Super Adaptor to make it easier. Make your way to the first stationary platform and stand on it until a moving platform moves over you and stops spinning. Hop onto it and immediately jump straight up off of it. Then ride it up to the ladder.
If you want this E-Tank, use the Super Adaptor to fly to it, but absolutely do not use it at the height of your jump, you will die. Those spikes aren't just for show. Be careful. Time for a miniboss.
Or is it a minibass? Stay low and hit him with homing punches from your Super Adaptor. He actually goes down pretty quickly. He just hops around and shoots straight ahead. So easy.
It's our best friend the Gockroach nest! Take it out normally and proceed. This passage is narrow. There are a few more Gockroach nests and then a door to a boss.
