I entered two contests looking for an interesting challenge but all I seem to have to do is review anything for anything for both.

Since I got over the whole html gimmick thing and don't play anything up to date, I basically can pick any game I want for both and write.

I enjoy having limited choices in contests but since I can pretty muich get away with anything in both of these, it's hardly going to be interesting.

Well, it's not like you knew what color you'd get. Some are easier than others. I'm sure you wouldn't be complaining if the color you'd gotten wasn't so "easy", but, well, that's how these things happen sometimes.

I hope you don't let that discourage you, though. There'll be others worth looking at, I'm sure.

ALso, were you referring to Zipp's contest or EmP's Challange for the second "unchallenging" contest?

Zipp's makes more sense than EmP's... though I sort of considered his more of an informal thing anyway. More of a way to just make someone write a review.

Vorty...

I'm glad you signed up, and I hope that, despite what you ended up with, you still participate. It's unfortunately just the luck of the draw. I admit that some of those choices (the HTML, the coldplay, the fiction) were directed at certain writers. And as much as you gambled in picking a color, I--just as much--with what you guys would pick. I suppose I could have chosen gimmicks specific to each of you once you had colors, but that would ruin the fun of it.

I know you were looking for a challenge, but that's not to say you can't discover one yourself. There's no rule that says you can't write a review in third person...(Ooooh. That's one to use next year). I don't think that really counts as a gimmick. Nothing that says you can't do a genre you've never done--though that blew up in my face when I tried. Nothing that says you can't take a game that's absolutely loved and spin it; focus only on the flaws as Mint did so well with Crono Cross.

The opportunity for challenge is still there, it's just one you're going to need to implement them yourself.

And I'm going to say this: If it angers you, annoys you or starts another War between us, I appologize. However, in your need to challenge yourself like this, I've noticed something. For someone that I don't normally get along with, you and I have some oddly similar aspects to our personality. Maybe that's why...

No no.

Don't be silly.

This isn't an attack on you because I know I probably just hit unlucky.

Actually, in retrospect, I sound like a moaning cunt in my original post and I will probably delete it.

I know. It struck me more as a general dissapointment. The last few contests haven't been as theme-based, and you seem to be looking for something that will force you out of your comfort-zone. The same reaction I probably would have had.
