They are multicolored beings with the power to do anything they set their mind to. Though small and vulnerable alone, in groups they can overtake even the mightiest of creatures. They obey orders from their respective captains and will work tirelessly to get the job done, even if it means sacrificing themselves. Next time you think you're getting the raw end of the stick at work, I beg you to spare a thought for Nintendo's often abused Pikmin. For these charmingly innocent do' ers of good are the poster children of workplace abuse. All day every day they toil the back breaking labors of life without even the smallest of compensations. Pikmin 2 has a lot to live up to. Its predecessor, Pikmin, was one of those beautiful, typifying moments for Nintendo when they released a genre-bending new franchise that really lived up to their name. Pikmin was my favorite first-wave software title on the GameCube, and even in a post-Wind Waker world it remains at the top of my list.
