Staff review by Jason Venter (January 31, 2005) Link moves with the elfish grace you might expect from his size. A quick thrust of the sword is enough to vanquish most foes, and when it’s not a secondary slash will do (at least, throughout most of the game). All he has to fear is the stream of fireballs Hyrule’s mermaid-like monsters launch from various rivers and lakes, as only a magical shield can deflect such attacks. Later, there are some projectiles even that armament won’t defend against. |

Reader review by Halon (November 15, 2008) Over the years plenty of brilliant action adventure games have been released on several platforms. They have told great stories, taken the gamers to fascinating worlds, and provided some of the most entertaining gameplay found anywhere. With that being said, are these games true adventures? They certainly do not give the player total adventuring freedom and provide only a handful of options between scripted events. One cannot truly adventure when they are following a certain path with events... |

Reader review by mariner (October 08, 2005) This review is not unbiased. This review will not try to claim that a critical look at every factor can tell you exactly how good the game is. For in this cartridge lies the origins of the only videogame franchise I truly care about. And just as importantly, it contains the heart and soul of this Zelda franchise, far better than any of the other games. It... |

Reader review by ratking (Date unavailable) The first Zelda game released to the world. This game introduces you to Ganon/Link/and Zelda who all appear in multiple Zelda games after. This game introduces the 8 dungeons, and the scattered Heart Pieces. This game introduces to you the mastersword, and the various shields and subweapons. There are potions and fairis, and skeletons and moblins. This game introduces you to all of that. |

Reader review by sgreenwell (Date unavailable) The gameplay experience that you get from the game is still fresh to this date, and there's nothing quite like the sense of exhiliration you get from beating Ganon all by yourself. |
