Reader review by Soulblitz (August 03, 2009) “Play. Create. Share.” That’s the way LittleBigPlanet works, and it’s one of the taglines used for the game. I’ll start with Play, as that’s mainly what you’ll be doing. You take control of an adorable little being called Sackboy (or Sackgirl), and his main role in life is to navigate his way through levels using what starts off as simple platforming, but eventually gets quite complicated. Reader review by Suskie (July 01, 2009) LittleBigPlanet’s appearance and demeanor, right down to its voiceover narration by Stephen Fry, are so friendly and inviting that you’d half expect the game to be a product of Pixar itself. The levels, seemingly constructed out of found materials and building blocks, look as though they’re set in the confines of a toy box, and the quirky, episodic nature of the plots accompanying them give the impression that the adventure is unfolding within a child’s imagination. Reader review by True (January 29, 2009) Very rarely am I ever “blown away” by a game. I play a fair amount of the “good, even the great. Games that are overwrought with airships or zombies; battles with a Colossus or battles with one's inner demons. Games that all claim to be Epic, yet harbor some resemblance to something I’ve already played. |
