The reason Duck Tales works so well because it remains faithful to the adventurous spirit that made its source material such a resounding success. After selecting a stage, you're dropped into what at first feels like just another level from any cutesy platformer. As you head to the right, though, you'll quickly realize that something is different: you have options!

When it all comes down to it, the 80s (and early 90s, I guess) were just so superior to the this strange new culture of today. Just look at all your Disney themed games today. How many of them are worth playing? Very few would be the best answer, and there aren’t too many folks excited about playing Donald Duck or Tarzan when they could be playing the multitude of other high quality games around. But back in the glory days of the NES, we didn’t have that problem. Disney games were actually *gasp...

Over a decade ago, millions of kids everywhere had a list of favorite cartoons that they loved watching every Saturday morning, or any other time they were on. In its heyday, Duck Tales was easily on at least 9 out of every 10 lists; it was that popular. The old, top hat-wearing Scrooge McDuck was already the richest duck in the world.
