Staff review by John Sacranie (January 31, 2008) This is one of the only games where the graphics and sound are as important, if not more important, than the gameplay. The A/V presentation defines Rez. The visuals consist of wireframes and simple polygonal figures on sparsely detailed backgrounds. Normally, this would be hideous. Thankfully, everything in Rez is constantly moving and pulsating -- from the lines that compose the ground to your character, nothing ever stands still. |

Reader review by deft (August 05, 2008) Let's imagine for a bit here, you're a hacker and you know of the existence of a computer that may hold the answer to all that is life, the universe and everything. That computer is heavily secured and packed with the most sophisticated anti-hacker software ever created. Would you try to hack that computer? |

Reader review by JANUS2 (March 18, 2012) In 2007, long after the demise of the Dreamcast, a port of Rez was announced for Xbox Live Arcade. Mizuguchi told reporters at the Tokyo Games Show that he “always dreamed of high-def wide screen and very good sound. Now the future has come." Rez HD was released in 2008 with high-definition wide-screen visuals and 5.1 surround sound. Much to my surprise, I absolutely loved it. I’m not sure whether it was because my tastes had changed in the eight years since I first played Rez |
