Staff review by Marc Golding (December 19, 2003) Lecarde is by far the better character, and playing with him makes for a much more enjoyable journey due in part to his wider array of moves, and also in part to the easier, smoother gameplay that results from him knowing them. However, sometimes you might get the odd feeling that you’re not being true to Castlevania by using this character (in much the same way that the sword-wielding Alucard feels so singular in your employ in Symphony of the Night), so I reluctantly choose the steroid-abusing Morris, if only to hear his whip crack once more (ahem!).

Reader review by darkfact (June 11, 2005) Castlevania: Bloodlines, the Genesis’ lone foray into the CV realm, suffered the misfortune of being released during the same era of gaming as effect-laden Super Castlevania IV and mythical Rondo of Blood. Reluctantly playing the hapless third sister of the two aforementioned legends, Bloodlines pulls off a marvelous Cinderella story, giving Genesis owners a CV saga that can proudly stand alongside its majestic siblings.

It's in their blood; their blood is special. The human veins it flows through are imbued with the strength to overcome the heinous Satanic minion. Reader review by siegfried (February 07, 2003) For once, Lord Dracula, sent to the blazes of Hell by another pawn bestowed by the Belmont blood, hasn't come back through means beyond human comprehension. Rather, he is preparing to make a baneful reappearance through the aid of Countess Elizabeth Bartley, who is willing to sacrifice humanity for her startling uncle.
