Shepherd’s Glen looked every bit the next-gen reincarnation of Silent Hill, then new protagonist Alex Shepherd turns up in his surplus army coat, frizzy hair and a rugged stubble beard, looks you deep in the eyes and proclaims in a bold, confident voice “I’ve completely missed the point!”

In light of the innovations made by competing survival horror franchises such as Resident Evil and Alone in the Dark, it wasn’t surprising that the latest Silent Hill game would be pretty different from the rest of the games in the series. With that said, many fans are quick to dismiss The Room as a “true” Silent Hill sequel.
