Reader review by goldenvortex (May 24, 2004) I've never been the number one fan of the SNES and in comparison with its Sega counterpart I find it quite inferior when it comes to the actual quality of the games themselves. Don't get me wrong though, the SNES sure did have a few shiners but it lacked enough of them to be honest. That's just my opinion and I hope I don't get a pile of e-mails from Nintendo butt bangers but it is the sad sad truth.

The SNES was starting to be outmatched. 3DO, Jaguar, and now this newfangled "Sega 32X", with the Saturn and PlayStation due next year! And the N64 was still a ways off! Reader review by ratking (July 27, 2002) Donkey Kong Country started a legacy of it's own. The original Donkey Kong game made over a decade ago, was about Donkey Kong kidnapping a beautiful woman. Now instead of Donkey Kong being the kidnapper, he is on the other side of it. So off he goes on a mission using typical side scroller skills (very similiar to Mario) creating a classic of his own.

Reader review by retro (November 01, 2003) Isn't it amazing how a picture can take you back to the good old days when you didn't have a worry in the world, or drag you back to a depressing time that you wish you could forget? No matter what the current times or surroundings were, capturing them in a photograph can preserve the memories forever. When images of Donkey Kong Country come to mind, I see not only the first SNES game I ever owned, but also a revolutionary platformer that is impossible to forget.
