Reader review by arkrex (August 04, 2007) Kratos. He was once a legendary Spartan warrior who fought in many great wars, and he conquered all of them. However, there was one battle he could not win. On the verge of a grisly defeat, he implored for the assistance of the God of War, Ares, to come down and smite his foes. In exchange for the godly intervention, Kratos’ soul now belonged to the vile deity. This set the scene for the events that occurred in the first God of War.

Reader review by phediuk (March 21, 2007) God of War II is not complicated. Multi-faceted plot? Pfft. How about five cutscenes in the whole game? Yeah, that's right. Even though the game is inundated with a stupidly self-conscious epic narrative and an equally pompous musical score, you won't care once you press the start button. From beginning to end, God of War II is Exhibit A for ass-kickery. You know those parts in other games where you're just forcing yourself along so you can get to the next cool part? Reader review by wolfqueen001 (May 24, 2010) This Pegasus is darker. Completely black except for fiery wings, it’s quite capable of defending itself with Kratos on its back. At a command, it’ll ram hostile griffins in the side or execute a forward dash to catch them off guard. These attacks are often more effective than using any of Kratos’ slashes, as his range is limited. At the same time, you must dodge energy blasts and charges from other aerial enemies, especially since the latter can send you into a spinning nosedive.
