Staff review by Ben Lee (November 15, 2007) At its best, Phantom Hourglass is pure fun. The innovative touch controls provide a fresh take on the standard Zelda fare, and that alone was enough to revitalise my dwindling interest in the series. |

Staff review by Gary Hartley (December 01, 2007) Things starts how they always start in the Zelda multiverse, with the kidnapping of that dappy bint of a princess whose only point of existence is to be spirited away by dark forces at the start of every new adventure. In a new development twist for the series, Phantom Hourglass is a direct sequel from Wind Waker on the Gamecube, meaning that it inherits the THE BIG TWO flaws that chapter suffered from |

Reader review by bside (November 30, 2007) My professional obligations completed, I forgot about Hourglass. It's easily done because, as I alluded to earlier, it's crap. But now, bollocks to it, I'm going to tell you why. |

Reader review by Chacranajxy (December 29, 2007) When Nintendo tries something new with the Zelda series, it usually pays off. Moving to three dimensions in Ocarina of Time resulted in what many consider to be the best Zelda game of all time, and experimenting with an ultra-cute graphical style worked surprisingly well in The Wind Waker. Nintendo's at it again in the direct sequel to The Wind Waker, The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass. What sets this apart from past games is that the entire g... |

Reader review by Ness (December 21, 2007) As each Zelda game releases there seems to be a celebration among gamers. I’m not a person to miss a Zelda game and I went through a roundabout way of playing this game. I bought the game despite I didn’t have a working DS. After asking some buddies from afar to send me their DS’s I managed to acquire one. A Link to the Past is my all-time favorite game in the series while Wind Waker is probably my favorite 3D adventure. When I first saw the trailer to Phantom Hourglass with Wind Waker visua... |

Reader review by phediuk (October 18, 2007) Phantom Hourglass is a bore. It takes the same tired gameplay we’ve been seeing for 20 years and throws some touch-screen functionality on it. Does the touch screen add much to the game? Not really. For every way in which it helps the gameplay, it also hinders it. It’s the definition of gimmick. For all but the most die-hard Zelda fans, Phantom Hourglass will be a long, boring trial to keep yourself awake. |

Reader review by Suskie (October 13, 2007) You Nintendo bastards. You think you can take over the world with your touch screens and your motion-sensitive remotes? This battle against the conventions of gaming has raged on for years, and now look what you’ve done. You’ve dragged Zelda into this mess. Haven’t you reanimated enough familiar franchises as is? Can’t you give it a rest? You can do whatever you want to Kirby and Metroid, but not Zelda, man! LEAVE MY ZELDA ALONE! |
