Staff Reviews

Final Fantasy X by James Gordon
FFX introduces many new elements which have never been seen before in a Final Fantasy game. I guess the one with the biggest impact is the new battle system. Square finally decided to just throw exp/levelling-up out the window. full review...

Final Fantasy X by Felix Arabia
Through its indelible presentation and beguiling appearance, Final Fantasy X immediately bombards the player with a raucous opening sequence. It begins with a seemingly innocuous stroll to an arena, only to quickly unfold into an unexpected maelstrom of destruction. Through this chaotic intro, we become familiar with the main character, a blitzball playing youth named Tidus, and we see just how helpless he really is. In fact, if not for Auron, the smooth as silk samurai who practically holds his hand through the entire romp, it likely would have been lights out for our little Meg Ryan look alike. full review...

Final Fantasy X by Lassarina Aoibhell
FFX's gameplay, though, has some truly significant differences from its predecessors. The most drastic change is that you can swap characters in and out during battle simply by pressing the R1 button. This is extremely helpful because it keeps you from getting jacked in boss fights because you brought the ninja instead of the black mage. full review...
