Staff review by Nicholas Tan (April 01, 2007) For all its ambitions, Rogue Galaxy neither sustains enough interest nor gathers enough courage to break away from being just a great-looking, great-sounding shell of the epic it wants to be. |

Staff review by Rob Hamilton (December 30, 2008) It also doesn't help that the two companions you can have at your side at any time are idiots. I didn't notice those guys going for charge attacks when necessary, leaving me to do that myself while they ineffectively flailed at the monsters. They also didn't seem all that keen on blocking attacks or any sort of evasive action. Instead, they'd occasionally request to use a healing item or ability when they felt that'd be a good change of pace from blindly running at monsters and attacking with all the grace and style of a drunken berserker. |

Reader review by Chacranajxy (June 29, 2007) Rogue Galaxy is the latest, and most likely last, Playstation 2 RPG from Japanese developer, Level 5. The game takes a number of the action RPG elements from their past series, Dark Cloud, refines them, and throws them into an outer space setting. The result is a game that stands tall even amidst the stiff competition on the Playstation 2. |

Reader review by Lavieta (April 09, 2007) Imagine, if you will, the following scenario: A young blond orphan living on a desert planet ruled by galactic war suddenly finds himself confused for an infamous hunter and whisked away on glorious adventures. Now, but for a few key points, many gaming fans find this core idea so irritatingly familiar it near instantly drives them away from this game. |
