Even though most of the game amounts to repeating the same "suppress then flank" tactic over and over, the elaborate environments make each situation feel unique. It really feels like you're being sneaky when you traipse through a creek or dart past the underbrush for a clean shot... and running through an enemy-occupied town while planes crash and explode in the background is spectacular and INTENSE.

A lot of advertisements for games emphasize team-based combat. In countless games, you are supposed to be able to command an elite squad of soldiers who will execute your every command flawlessly and respond as adeptly as a human would. Typically, first-person shooters brag about this high level of team unity, but most of the time, they fail terribly at living up to their promise. The AI just isn’t smart enough, or the programming just wasn’t good enough, or the feature just wasn’t worth using. ...

I am a big fan of the genre of World War II FPS since Wolfenstein 3D, so I expected a great fun ride from this game, especially considering enthusiastic reviews. Instead this was a survival horror of intensively irritating dumbness and it all looked so bright in the beginning.
