The animation, especially of the ships’ movements, is remarkably accurate to the movies, and, in some cases, even better. The ships’ hulls, themselves, are perfectly rendered, immediately recognizable at first glance. The FMV scenes from the original movies, which are shown throughout the game’s menu system, add even more quality to the already nostalgic title.

Rogue Squadron 2 knows what the Star Wars nerd inside all of us has always wanted. We don't want to protect generic convoys on generic grassy planets like in the first game, we want to blow up the damn Death Star. The first level lets us do just that, and the photorealistic graphics make it look like a scene out of the movie. Rogue Squadron was really one of the best N64 games out there. With high production levels, incredible graphics, and that special feeling you get blasting away TIE fighters in the Star Wars universe, I and many others immediately fell in love with it. And why not? Very few Star Wars games, at least on consoles, were any good before this one came around, and it was really the first console game that truly gave you the feeling of being in the Star Wars universe.
