After a certain point in the game, most players will be used to that sort of chaotic action, as The Suffering revels in it. Torque spends much of the game trapped in a lunatic’s nightmare, surrounded by panicking guards and inmates fighting each other, as well as their otherworldly foes.

In The Suffering, the abominations you encounter are not mazes to find your way past, but obstacles to be destroyed. Like a 1970s grindhouse flick, you’ll find yourself standing amid piles of bodies, blood drenching every scrap of skin and clothing left on your body.

23 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This will be your new home. A concrete cell no more than 6 feet across by 9 feet deep. It is going to be your future, it is going to be your hell. Midway has recently taken a new direct route towards gamers: their objective is to create new, exciting games that actually play decently.
