Just read this review having played the game recently. I cheated by following a guide to avoid the issues of the pacing because I hate wandering corridors not knowing where I'm supposed to go next and because I wanted to get all the trophies. It was a deeply disturbing experience and has stayed in my mind. Your introductory paragraph are excellent and really points to the true nature of horror.
