I really liked this review because it does a great job of tackling what is, to me, the biggest issue with remakes of classic games — the concept of taking something that was awesome a couple decades ago, but probably simplistic or quaint by today's standards and saying it deserves the same price tag as an ambitious current title. I played Link's Awakening and really dug it, but there's no way I'd even consider spending that much $$$ for any Game Boy title, regardless of its graphical enhancement. Like I was saying to Marc with his review of the Spyro remakes, it's a temptation to buy that, but I haven't really felt the itch to do so even though that is three games bundled for a lower price than this has.

To me, it's the sort of title that defines "niche game". If you never played Link's Awakening OR if you're a Zelda fanatic who is compelled to play everything with that name attached OR if you're a Nintendo fanatic, it might be a great purchase, but I simply don't have enough free time to even consider dropping a lot of money on a remake, regardless of how great the game was back in the day when it was released as one of the top titles on a primitive system.
