This is a brilliant review, Venter. I can't remember reading a better one from you. I think you really tapped well into your fiction writing skillz to give us a taste of the actual experience of playing the game. Very good pacing lent urgency to what is one of the most tense moments in the game. Loved it.

Thanks for the feedback. Reading through it again, I do agree with your comments on the pacing. I was really in my fiction-writing groove and that scene worked so well for a review like this. Reading it also made me realize that I'm going with a somewhat similar approach (though not as in-depth) on my BioShock review, which you should expect to see tomorrow. ;-)

"What if everything you see is more than what you see--the person next to you is a warrior and the space that appears empty is a secret door to another world? What if something appears that shouldn't? You either dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than you think. Perhaps it really is a doorway, and if you choose to go inside, you'll find many unexpected things." - Shigeru Miyamoto on secret doors to another world2
