This is one game I used to want to rent, but somehow I always wound up with something else instead (and I didn't even get to rent except a few times each summer, since I lived out in the middle of nowhere). Then I bought it fairly recently for cheap, but I haven't played it because I don't have my NES hooked up. It always looked kind of interesting but also kind of generic, so this review did a nice job of confirming my suspicions and setting my expectations without making me think I'll never play it. After all, surely I can spare an hour or so to thoroughly satisfy that curiosity. Thanks for sharing your review, which told me basically everything I could have wanted to know!

"Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought." - John F. Kennedy on reality

"What if everything you see is more than what you see--the person next to you is a warrior and the space that appears empty is a secret door to another world? What if something appears that shouldn't? You either dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than you think. Perhaps it really is a doorway, and if you choose to go inside, you'll find many unexpected things." - Shigeru Miyamoto on secret doors to another world2
