Nice review Rob. I found myself nodding in agreement most of the time. The game does start off a little vapid, a little easy. But things get difficult in a hurry. I always thought of the first four levels as opportunities to stack extra lives and bombs for the inevitable level nine ass kicking.

Ninth level? Hell, I was glad I had a big stockpile of bombs by about midway through the fifth! For me, the difficulty rose a lot for that one, went down a bit for the sixth and then rose gradually again through the final three.

I was glad to finally play through this one, though. I'd heard a lot of good stuff about it, but had only played the first stage and was wondering what all the fuss was about. Now I know. Between this and Rayman Origins, I've given my aging nervous system a lot of misery with me trying to show I still have those twitch reflexes!
