It's great to hear that Nintendo hasn't lost its touch and has released another stellar Mario game!

The 2nd half of the game gets really good. The first half feels a lot like an extension of the New Mario series, but the back half is pretty challenging with some wacky ideas. I'm slowly going back to get all the stars and stuff. I may 100% this game, which is something I haven't done in awhile.

I haven't finished Bowser's Fury yet, but it's a lot of fun, albeit a bit 3asy.

I've purchased the Switch version of the game, and did so happily because it's good enough that I wanted to have it available on the newer hardware with whatever slight improvements Nintendo had time to make. I've heard people gushing about Bowser's Fury, so I look forward to that eventually. But I've had less time for gaming whims lately, so I've not yet dived into it. By the time I do, everything about the game will no doubt feel fresh and exciting again as it did the first time around. I can live with that!

"What if everything you see is more than what you see--the person next to you is a warrior and the space that appears empty is a secret door to another world? What if something appears that shouldn't? You either dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than you think. Perhaps it really is a doorway, and if you choose to go inside, you'll find many unexpected things." - Shigeru Miyamoto on secret doors to another world2

I finally got around to Bowser's Fury. It was... fine. By the end, Fury Bowser really annoyed me. I've gotten about half the stars cat shines. I might peck at it later.

In the mean time, I went back in 3D World and got every star and stamp. I then went and beat Champion's Road with all 5 characters (individually--no cheating the multiplayer). I'm going back now and just playing levels now with other characters now. I don't feel like I must do that, but it's a great excuse to keep playing.

The more I've played this over the past year, the more it has grown on me. We'll see if it has staying power, but it might have toppled Mario 3 in my personal ranking.
