My real question is: does it control well? I played a few hours of San Andreas, and sorry, just could not tolerate it, the controls never really seemed to click at all for me.

It controls a lot like other contemporary games, which is to say... a lot better than San Andreas controlled (at least in my opinion). I touch on that in the review. The driving in particular is great, and I've heard very mixed opinions on the shooting. For me, the shooting was easily the best in the series to date and gave me little trouble.
