I think you're right to point out how this being a Gameboy game actually enhances some aspects. The small screen and lack of color really give it a sense of claustrophobia. There were a few rooms where I was walking and just walked into a Metroid and it genuinely gave me a jump. I can't think of another Gameboy game that actually had atmosphere to this extent.

Yeah, memorizing the map was a bit of a pain sometimes when searching for Metroids. I'm glad the game is linear enough for that not to be a greater annoyance. |
