Great review, Joe! I agree with your sentiments on Cannonball Guy, too. He's almost enough to break the game and one reason I didn't score the game higher. Basically, the rest of the game is fair--though sometimes difficult--but that particular boss is just a pain. He requires so much more precision and timing than any other foe in the initial six stages. It's not fun, just irritating (even with a nearly maxed life meter). Anyway, you and I seemed to mostly feel the same on this game, and I enjoyed myself a lot more once I started using abilities better, so I'd say anyone who stumbles across our reviews is in for some great info about a good game. Thanks for posting this!

What if something appears that shouldn't? You either dismiss it, or you accept that there is much more to the world than you think. Perhaps it really is a doorway, and if you choose to go inside, you'll find many unexpected things." - Shigeru Miyamoto

Thanks, Jason! Your review is also awesome, and kind of inspired my review. I did cover this game years ago at GF, so this is a full rewrite.

That cannonball boss is easily the worst in the game. There are a few other scenes I failed to mention that are also difficult like that, especially the one segment in the final stage where you float around in zero G. Ugh, joyless.

I hadn't even heard of this game until now. It's a shame when an otherwise enjoyable game is plagued by poor design choices. I'm surprised, though, that there weren't more clones of Mega Man.
