Ugh, god. This sounds terrible. Not the necklace but just the generic FPS adaptation of a show featuring the most FPS style characters. Sigh...

It does remind me that I have to pick up episode two of the decidedly more unique and interesting TellTale game.

This one could be ok if handled correctly. It'll reportedly allow you to try to sneak past zombies, and there's some kind of supply management mechanic. I'm taking this to mean that you'll want to stick to your silent crossbow as much as you can, which isn't exactly good for taking out hordes of zombies, and if you fire your gun, you'll attract their attention like in the comic/show and make things a lot harder for yourself.

That's my optimistic take on it. If it's just Call of Duty with hillbillies and zombies (which it very well could be), it'll just miss the point of the Walking Dead show.

Well said, Roto. And you're right: if they utilize cool mechanics—but I keep feeling like they are going to get sidetracked by just tying it into the show. I've yet to play a single Television Show game that is any good. Or anything better than a 5, at least.

You need to play some DuckTales for NES, stat!

Capcom's Disney games on NES were pretty great in general. Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, Rescue Rangers. Good stuff.

Astro Boy Omega Factor immediately comes to mind as a great game based on a TV show.

I should have clarified, I meant live action television. Because, yeah, if we go to cartoons, I can think of dozens of great games. Ducktales was so good...

See what I mean? No one can think of any. The only one that comes close to being good in my experience was the original x-files game, which gets away with a lot because it's an adventure game in which you can shoot Director Skinner within the first five minutes of gameplay.

The only one that comes to mind for me is The Lone Ranger for the NES. I haven't played that in EONS, but I remember having a good time with it.

Part of the problem is that live action television shows have only rarely ever been made into games. So there's not a large enough sample from which to draw. With that said, Telltale Games did an okay job on its CSI game (that was around a 7/10 for a lot of people, I recall). And there are probably other examples, but I'd have to assemble a list of TV shows made into games before I could ever tell you which ones are or might be any good...

Alias wasn't bad according to Psycho Penguin, I've never played the game but the TV show was fun and it sounded like the game was too, though not perfect by any means.

I remember several that were bad. 24 was cool for it's use of the show's "multiple camera" effect but otherwise pretty stinky. Lost was terrible (and I love Suskie's review of it—think it was Suskie). Game of Thrones was fairly lambasted by Rob recently. The X-Files game was actually fairly well received, somewhere around a 7, too, I think... but the second game was panned. Then there's all the "Most Dangerous Catch" and "American Idol" games. Ugh.
