OD, if I needed any further convincing to pick up Skyrim, this would have done it. Great work! I'll be picking this up on Thursday night/Friday, whenever my direct deposit clears, so now I know what to expect.

The only thing my milkshake brings to the yard is a subpoena.

I, on the other hand, have been saved some money by Overdrive's wonderful assessment of the game. Not because you make the game sound bad at all. No, even better, you tell me exactly what playing it will be like and I realize it's not my cup of tea.

Any time I can describe a game so that two people looking for different things can come to conclusions whether it be a good purchase, I did something right.

Which I was worried about with this one. With a game that large and all-encompassing, it's hard to say all you want to say without it getting obscenely long. I was worried that I just kinda gave a little of a lot of things, but not enough of anything to actually make good points.

It's one of a very few reviews which work for me BECAUSE of length. You set it up well so that your experience was becoming fatigued around the time that I was, as a reader. So it felt natural to follow you into that discussion.

I felt similarly about Skyrim. I played it for about 2 weeks and absolutely loved it. Sunk in about 60 hours attempting to get every achievement and then just got really bored and promptly shelved it. I had the same exact experience with Oblivion too.
