Informative. I imagine this was difficult to write about. I have played the first episode (and by playing I mean tore through burning the midnight oil), so I'm quite eager to give it another go, assuming I get a 10 euro deal from Steam like before.

One thing I hope has been fixed here - and your press release suggested something along these lines - is for books to be repeatable. This was simply not possible in the first game, and I got in trouble when I finished book 2 but used up nearly all my healing potions for its boss, then I started book 3 which is hard from the beginning, and I wasn't able to get anywhere for lack of potions.

Normally you fix that by playing the minigames, which give you extra potions to use in the story battles, but I hadn't unlocked them yet for book 3, and I had no way of returning to book 1 and book 2. Eventually I was forced to wipe my profile and start from the beginning, this time making sure to stock up BEFORE beating the book 2 boss. Major irritation.

You know, I'm not entirely sure the problem has been removed. By the time I got to the start of book three, I was pretty much out of potions. And the earlier episodes don't seem to be replayable. Mini-games are unlocked, but playing them from the main menu doesn't seem to award potions for the campaign mode. What you have to do--as far as I can tell--is just keep attempting the stages without using potions. As you do, you'll sometimes gain a few new potions (particularly if you beat a boss with energy to spare). The Mother Goose companion also drops healing potions every four turns you survive, so it's really only a matter of time if you want to stock up on potions and try again.

Perhaps it really is a doorway, and if you choose to go inside, you'll find many unexpected things." - Shigeru Miyamoto on secret doors to another world2
