I actually found very little wrong with this except for general things like lengthy and wordy sentence structures that require occasional rereading, but that's alright. I've always liked how you can make a game initially sound bad only to end up making it sound interesting in the end.

Granted, I've neither played any Metal Slug games (except for the third on some arcade machine somewhere) nor read all the reviews for any of them that people get tired of, so I get to just see it for what it is rather than what has come before.

EDIT: Don't feel too bad, though. You know we all still love you. <3 Besides, I'm sure what you're seeing is just in response to people's inability to tell you how awesome you are in such a way that hasn't been said a hundred thousand times before. =P
