I agree. Arcade Altered Beast is actually a lot of fun, but the Genesis version suffers from watered-down port syndrome.

I've only ever played said Genesis version and I *still* return to it sometimes because I just want another shot at beating it. I never do, but the fact that it keeps me trying anyway has to count for something.
