Title: A bunch of random crap out of Japan:
Posted: March 21, 2009 (04:23 PM)
In Japan, the PS3 is getting a lot of love lately.

So you may have heard, but there's a new Mobile Suit Gundam game coming out for PS3. Listed as an "anime robot" game, it's coming out as Gundam is hitting its 30th anniversary. It's going to include a "Network Mode" and a "Scenario Mode" However, how they're going to make it not suck ass like that first PS3 Gundam game remains to be seen. Screenshots look harmless though:

The game is slated for a 4/3 release date in Japan.
==============================================
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is coming out for Playstation 3 as well. Ayame, the purple haired chick from Tecmo's Dead or Alive series will be featured as a playable character. I seem to remember a quote from series creator Tomonobu Itagaki saying that he would never make a PS3 version of Ninja Gaiden, so now that Itagaki has left the company, the announcement of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 serves as a giant "fuck you Itagaki" on behalf of Tecmo.

More to come in a week!

I'm guessing Deathsmiles is a Japanese only title?

I'm assuming so, as I've heard no mention of it coming to the States. Sucks too, because it's got a nice art style.

Pester Mastiff or XS Games or something, guys. They're the companies most likely to give localizing it a shot... if it's actually any good. A lot of hardcore gamers here in the US like an art style and the fact that a game is a sidescroller and scream "Localize it!" only to turn their noses up at a game once it does come out here because it turns out that the game sucks. But if it's good? It deserves your support and maybe you can get it localized.

Cave, Cave! Cavia is someone else.

Deathsmiles won't disappoint. But since Cave has yet to have a game released domestically, I'm assuming they probably want more money for licensing than other shooter companies ask. Which would be a major hindrance, since budgets are low in the US on those kinds of things.

I wonder if it makes more sense to release it over XBLA? Surely that's cheaper than releasing a boxed product? Plus it gives your game a worldwide audience.
