CTRacer: Arcade Style MMO review
August 10, 2010

Hello There!

The Racing Game Genre haven't been a focused of attention from players around the world. The ever popular mmorpg genre is still and i think forever will be on top of every players list. However racing games offers its own thrill and excitement instead of tanking you are drifting with your own tricked out car. I'm a bit of a old school kind of guy and I miss playing arcade racing games in malls (Have work also), one racing that caught my attention is CTRacer. I haven't gotten deeper around to test the game further but here are some initial feedbacks from me.

Every game has its beginnings and you will start out with only a few CTs (In game currency) 10,000 to be exact limiting your purchasing powers. There are some cars that you can't purchase because you still have to unlock it, stepping on the Main Field (Free Roam Mode), i was surprise of the friendliness of the players and guess what... GMs are playing with them. This is the first time that I have met a GM in a game, CTR GMs are really friendly and you can ask them about everything related to the game. Moving on, main thing to do in Free Roam Mode is too farm performance parts and CTs by doing quest (Simple logic, faster car more quests finished). This might be quite a drag but its worth it because the level system of the game doesn't matter in racing and what matters is your driving skills. Simple quest from point A to B, or from point A, B, C, D, to E.

There are other game modes besides the free roam area like Downhill Racing and Championship where street racing is turned into professional. Downhill Mode what caught my attention in the first place because it reminds me of "Initial D" (Popular Anime), huge fan of the series BTW LOL!

I was able to purchase some other cheap cars to test the game further and each of them offers different driving experience. That is a big plus for me since I'm really into cars performance and enhancing them so that my noobish skills will not be noticed (ROFL)! There are four categories C, B, A, and S class Cars, where C is the lowest category and S is the highest. While exploring the game you will notice which cars are suited for you and each track so keeping lots of cars will be your edge in winning races and their events.

The game has been around quite some time (It was develop around 2002) so the graphics is old compared to the other games. But from what i have said earlier graphics is only 25% in my perception and the rest is for the game experience. I may announce that they will be having a huge update on August 17, 2010 much like "WOW:Cataclysm" where they renovated everything in the game this will be much the same with CTRacer.
