Title: I am now allergic to JT. Posted: April 18, 2007 (11:02 PM)
Jack Thompson stated that the Virginia Tech gunman played Counter-Strike on MSNBC's Hardball today, which would be fine if there was actually evidence. He said that the fact he was a school shooter and that he did it with such ease meant, without a shadow of a doubt, that he played Counter-Strike or some first-person shooter. Chris Matthews continually grilled him, retorting that Thompson had no concrete evidence at all. We all know this already, but he jumps to whatever conclusions he wants to support his claims, even if they are based on the most circumstantial proof. The killer's roommates have testified that they have seen the killer - an English major - type essays and plays on his laptop.
I am appalled that a national news channel would allow someone to throw allegations and claim them to be "forensic fact." Even worse, what kind of news channel only brings one person onto a "debate." Journalism centers around getting both sides of the issue. Every other kind of debate, by definition, involves at least two people. How can such blatant bias against video games be promoted? I suppose insanity is everywhere.

At this point one must remember that Jack Thompson has become so loving insane that he probably believes the kid's actions are evidence that he played violent games like Counter-Strike. His pre-video game background is enough to show you what a complete asshat he is what with all the "HEY JANET RENO ARE YOU A LESBIAN? I THINK YOU ARE A LESBIAN!" shtick and the whole "RAP is evil!" thing with 2 Live Crew.
In conclusion, I can't wait to bomb some Dodongos. Don't tell Jack.

Be careful. Jack Thompson probably thinks "Dodongos" is slang for "skyscrapers".

That doesn't make sense. Everyone knows only Dodongos dislike smoke.

He played CS in high school, but absolutely zero games were presently found in his room or on his computer.

That's just how insidious and evil the effects of video games truly are. Once you head down that road to hell, there's no turning back.
