I've finally reviewed every fighting game in my PS2 collection.
August 06, 2006

*Including my old Playstation games as well.

I don't know what to cover next. There's still San Andreas, DMC 1 & 2, Rachet and Clank, MMX 7 & 8 and the Jak & Daxter series to take on. I'm trying to hold off on RPGs because I don't enjoy the genre nearly as much as others. I'm only on like the second battle in Disgaea, and I'm already tired of it. >.<

Anyone know any other good PS2 action or stealth games that are easy to pick up and play?

In the meantime, I'm inching ever closer to review #300. I've already got reviews for Final Fight and Bionic Commando in the works. Also, a random observation from Usurper's recent RotD has inspired me to try something. On 9/16/05, I got over the 200 reviews mark by reviewing the Mega Man series on the NES. To celebrate getting past 300 this year, I intend to review the Mega Man X series (yes, all eight of them), get them posted on 09/16/06.

Yeah, I'm such a nerd.

I have too many goofy, campy games I want to review including Wonder Momo and Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I'm pretty sure September 16th is a Saturday.... and that means................ you know?

But I hope you it does works out for you anyways.

Have you tried out Shadow of the Colossus? That's more of an advnture game, but it's great and has plenty of action. Also, you should invest in a Turbo Duo and review every game on that system. Paying $400 for Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire would be the best economic decision you could make.

And Genj should review Water Closet.

Played any of the Hitman games yet?

Yeah, the Hitman games are pretty stealthy/actiony and you can get them for cheap. The first three Splinter Cell games are in bargain bins everywhere too.

Play Jak and Daxter though. At least the first one. That game was great. I hate 3D platformers with a passion, but I loved that game. And Sly Cooper, that game rocked too. I didn't like Jak 2, never played Jak 3, and played only half of Sly 2 before I got bored.

I second J&D. I would also go with the Hitman games if you're looking for stealth, since that's your only real option. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is my favorite game of the generation and completely blows the first two MGS games out of the water (I haven't tried 3 yet, which I hear is better than both of them combined), but from what I hear it sucks on every console but Xbox. I wouldn't bother with it unless you have an Xbox or good enough PC.

****, I forgot about Sailor Bacon's sans-weekend work schedule. I'll have to submit them on Friday then. A Turbo Duo sounds pretty nifty, but I've got my sights set on an old Intellivision sitting in my garage right now. If I can get it running again, there'll be dozens of reviews coming in the next few months...

As far as the Hitman and Jak series goes, I haven't tried any of them yet. But if they're as good as everyone's saying, I ought to enjoy myself. I'm a little wary of the Splinter Cells, though; I played the first one and thought it sucked ass. I got the game free at a sale when I bought PoP The Sands of Time, but I ended trading SC back in less than a week. Bleh.

Sportsman, you really should give MGS3: Subsistence a shot sometime. I don't know if it blows the first two totally out water, but it is a mighty fine game. =)

Rent Hitman: Blood Money, I really dug it and I basically don't even like games any more. Though I imagine going back to 2 and Contracts would be awkward because of the very fluid new moves, I'd imagine I'd go back and try to push someone over a ledge and then they'd shoot me and I'd die and :(
