What do you do while this site loads?

I open another tab and check my email. By then the main page is usually all there. I check for anything new and then go to my blog. While that loads I check out one or two of my daily websites. I keep doing this while checking other pages on the site.

I'm not trying to complain, but this site seems to be loading slower and slower every week. Is there a certain time of day when it loads normally?

You should try actually trying to get some work done. When you go into the guts of the site, some pages take on access of 5 minutes to load. I wish I was exagarating.

In answer to your question, I swear. A lot.

It's sporadic. Sometimes, pages load in a near-instantaneous fashion. Often, refreshing a page that is taking too long to load will remedy the issue, though not always. That's why I don't blame my coding. The fact that pages sometimes load in a flash--the same ones that other times take upwards of a minute or two--says that the issue is with the server. I figure it can't last forever. Pretty soon, whoever is causing all the server issues will say "Wow, these servers suck" and move on, leaving the rest of us to again enjoy the high-quality server.

I like to beat Morrowind a couple of times while waiting for the main page to load.

I do nothing while checking the blogs (which are fast compared to the rest of the site) and luckily the forums have that view the 50 most recent posts option because it would take me hours to view each forum separately.

Reviews usually load in 30 seconds or less but aside from that I no longer view other areas of the site. Ratings and searching for games often takes over a minute and that's actually pretty fast compared to others here. Now I usually browse HG while viewing other sites or downloading music.

It's 11:20 central time. I just checked a few things and everything came up lightning fast.

Jebus, putting up the RotW yesterday was a class A pain in the motherfucking ass....

First, it was taking like 45 seconds at least for just about every review to load up on my computer. Then, when I finally got done with that, things slowed down to a point where stuff wasn't even loading in, so I delayed posting it a couple hours because I figured it would take AT LEAST that long to do the combo of posting a thread, moving a review to "featured" and giving 1000 HG points. I about totally blew a vein in my forehead, I was getting so frustrated.... Is there a way to just nuke whatever other site uses this server with the virus from hell to make things better?
