Guitar Hero on PS3
October 22, 2007

I just got a 60g PS3 the other day. I was planning on waiting a while, but I wanted the 60g before they were gone. It's also my birthday in a few weeks so I gave myself an early present. I unhooked the PS2 with plans of selling it along with all of its accessories, but than I noticed my guitar hero guitars....

Basically, you can't use the PS2 guitars on the PS3 and the PS3 guitar for GH3 wont work with GH1, ,2, or 80s. WTF!

I'm still gonna sell my PS2, but I don't know what I should do with the GH stuff. I don't see how this is even an issue. I've pretty much maxed out my skill on the old GH games, but it is a fun party game and I'm hoping you'll be able to download them on ps3 or something. Otherwise I'll just get it on 360.

It seems like Activision or Sony would make a download of some sort that allows for compatability, since that issue has to be software/firmware-driven. With big games like Guitar Hero, I would've expected that already. Someone's dropping the ball, but maybe they'll pick it back up later.

Interesting fact: I've imported and mastered both Ouendan games, yet I've never even played Guitar Hero. I'd buy them from you, but my only PS2 that I have hooked up is my Japanese one. I'd be facing the same conundrum as you, I'm afraid. =[

Are you going to get Resistance?

I probably will. I'm kind of looking for deals on games at used stores and ebay right now. Let me know if you see anything at your store. Also if you get the chance to buy any cool movies on blu-ray I'll take em. I don't plan on buying any new blu-ray movies because of the price, but I want a few just because.

Around here, BluRay discs are $5 more than the same title on DVD (for new movies). About half the time, that's true of HD-DVD as well, of course. The other half of the time, HD-DVD is 'hybrid' and thus costs $10 more than just buying the DVD. Either way, if I buy a new movie when it comes out and it's available on BluRay, I'll spend the extra $5. :-D

Note: I haven't actually bought a 'new' movie in something like a year...
