View Hints

Have you noticed that each game has a "View hints" link when you press R1 during a game? To be able to view these hints, keep the game open for three hours. You don't even have to play it, just let it run. After three hours, exit out, and when you go back to the game or check the Hints menu in the Options area, that game's hints will be available.

It may just say "hints", but it's actually the game's secrets, such as passwords, level select, etc., so it's well worth keeping the game on for at least three hours while you go to work, sleep, etc.

Unlockables

Games

**"Playing" a game counts as seeing the Sega screen and then pressing R1 and going to Exit after going to the specific game.

Flicky - Play Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine 30 times.

Blue Sphere - Play Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic the Hedgehog 20 times each.

Knuckles in Sonic 2 - Play Sonic Spinball and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 20 times each.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Play Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles 20 times each.

Ristar - Play Flicky, Blue Sphere, Knuckles in Sonic 2, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles 20 times each.

Comix Zone - Exit all games 50 times.

Comic Zone and The Ooze - To do these two, you must have a save of Sonic Heroes on your memory card (It can be any save; you don't have to beat the game). Then play Sonic Mega Collection Plus and go to the games section. After that, the game will tell you that these two games are now playable.

***Note: Now when you go to the games list, the now-unlocked game won't immediately be there. Either reset the game or press Triangle on your controller to back out of the games list, and then go back to it. It will now tell you the game is available to play (for example, "Flicky is now available to play").

In extremely rare cases, most noteably with old consoles, performing some tricks can shorten the system's longevity. Staff and authors on the HonestGamers.com site take no responsibility for damage that may occur to your system as a result of using any cheat featured on this site. Also, if you have a cheat, trick, or code of your own for Sonic Mega Collection Plus, please feel free to share. A million gamers might thank you for your help!
