The sun is out and bright while,
We are all eating popsicles.
Because maybe the world will end and,
That's the best way to it.
SCREAM through dreams that cut your voice off;
wide awake, will nothing soothe?
With a word I'd take this pain from you,
but I fall mute.

One; I was wondering if you guys knew of any kind of "futuristic" sounding music. Like techno, or industrial, I suppose. But with less of the trippin balls and growling, respectively. Stuff that sounds sort of synthetic, bass heavy?
Second; looking for some good metal music. Nothing slow and grinding. What, speed metal? Thrash? I have no idea; the music world has so many sub-genres it makes my head spin. Shredding?
Doesn't matter, I just need something blistering, like battle music or chase type music.

I know nothing about futuristic techno or industrial but I know a bit about metal when I still gave a damn about the genre.
Well you see you said something good that's not "slow or grinding" and that makes me think of these albums:
-Mastodon's "Leviathan" - It's progressive, sludge metal with semi-growling vocals. The drummer is very jazzy and easily the most talent member of the band.
-Opeth's "Blackwater Park" - Progressive death metal. The singer constantly switches from barks to clean vocals. He's pretty good with both. Non-metal interludes and such are pretty nice too.
-Iron Maiden's "The Number of the Beast" - Classic new wave of British heavy metal. Does it need any explanation?
But then you said something about battle or chase music that only screams DRAGONFORCE to me. It's silly and cheesy power metal about dragons and fighting and stuff. Super fast stuff too. I like to call it Nintendo metal because it sounds like belongs in some ridiculously tough shooter.
Bonus- as many metal subgenres I could think of:
Glam (aka hair)

Ken Ishii / Jellytones - Futuristic without the glowstick effect? This is one of the best places to start.
Autechre - Sometimes scary, sometimes melodic, but always interesting.
Deltron 3030 - Find the instrumental track if possible. It's on the slow side of things, but epic as hell.
DJ Spooky / Under the Influence - One of the best trip-hop albums I have ever heard. It has a great range of style encompassing too many genres to name.
Battery / NV - Good industrial album with dance influences. Lighter on the growling.
Pulse Legion / One Thing - A recent favorite in my industrial collection. Heavy on the synth if you want to go for that '80s cyberpunk sound.

I'll second the Autechre recommendation for futuristic sounding shit, they're inconsistently brilliant. Dael, Vletrmx21, Bronchusevenmx24 Cichli, Cipater, Rae, Arch Carrier, and Pro Radii are all stunning songs.
