"An Xbox Live Arcade version of id software's 1994 shooter Doom II: Hell on Earth is being shown on the floor at QuakeCon, expected to be officially announced later today. A whole new episode will be included, along with all of Doom 2's original content."

think it'll be any good, or just a bunch of shitty 1994 maps and monster holocausts?

Probably just a bunch of shitty 1994 maps and monster holocausts. Maybe it will come with modern controls and/or HD support but I'm not expecting much.

Also supposedly Valve is going to announce what's the deal with Portal 2 and Episode 3 tomorrow.

It'll be like that time Quake 2 came with Quake 4 and you'd be all "Hey, cool, I can revisit Q2 on my 360, which I will assume hasn't aged with the grace of a boob-tube wearing grandmother" and then be wrong.

Frankly, the way iD Program shit right now, I'd rather they just rehash some old stuff rather then wow us with retro themed Doom 3 bullshit.
