First, assuming a price point of $30 for every copy of the original, and the two campaign expansions (averages at best), the sequel to the best-selling computer game of all time need only sell just over three million copies to break even. I think that's a fairly conservative estimate.

Second, video games cost a lot of money to make. GTA4 also had a 100 million budget. Halo 3 and MGS4 cost about 70 million each.

Thirdly, where'd you hear about this?

i think the best selling computer game of all time is The Sims and not Starcraft......

i read this on Gamespot.....

Because Gamespot never lies.

Starcraft has sold, I think, ten million copies since it was released?

I think Will was just pointing out that Gamespot often reports crazed news and then later releases another report contradicting that. It seems to be their way of increasing the amount of articles they get to release.

Really, I should have used this method, back when I was writing for the Examiner. Instant money maker. People have to keep coming back to see what the latest is, or they may quote you and be laughed at for the fools they are.

Me personally, I have nothing against Gamespot. But I like to explain things, in case you haven't noticed.
