Xbox 360 slim unveiled and other moments from Microsoft's Press Conference
June 14, 2010

it was a good thing that Microsoft's press conference got delayed by a good half hour which allowed me to catch the whole thing (almost)...missed about only 10 minutes of it.....the best news for me from the conference was the new slim 250 GB HDDD Xbox 360 for the same price i.e. $299 and being available from next week.....here's hoping that they fixed ALL issues with the new design so that i can be a console gamer once again.....plus in an Oprah Winfrey style move Microsoft gave each audience member a free slim Xbox 360....HOW I WISH I WAS THERE!!!!!!!!!!

they also showed Kinect(Project Natal's new official name)games out of which the most impressive was the Ferrari F450, Forza III demo.....that demo was AMAZING!!!!out of the other games they showed, Joy Ride (kart racing game)was one which looked weird because u move your hands to steer the vehicle and i guess the cars accelerate on their own......they also showed Kinect Sports that had some track&field events which looked tiring coz the players had to stand in one place and simulate running .....i dont know, would i want to do that after coming home from a 9 hour work day at the office???seems a lot of hard work.....Kinect will be sold for $149.....

games that Microsoft showed were no big surprises really....Gears of War III, Halo Reach, CoD:Black Ops etc.....the line-up had nothing which would make someone who isnt already an owner of an Xbox 360 buy one....Codename Kingdoms was a new IP (small trailer) that was shown from developers Crytek.....

and oh yeah ESPN and Microsoft have signed a deal to bring live events on to the Xbox 360 free for Gold Members of Xbox Live......im not a big sports fan so this wasnt such a big deal.....

all in all an ok conference....nothing that might make u go 'WHOA'....the media briefing just built on all the ideas that Microsoft has been talking about for the past 1 year.....
