I'm going home for the weekend so I'll finally have access to my 360 again. Before leaving for school I wasn't really playing anything so I thought I'd hit up Gamestop or Best Buy for some cheap games to play through in a weekend. Anything short and under $20 (new or used) would be nice.
I've already played:
both Gears, Fallout 3, GTA4, DMC4, Dead Space, RE5, Fable 2, Prince of Persia, Left 4 Dead, Bioshock, Bullet Witch, Earth Defense Force
Was considering:
Silent Hill: Homecoming
Ass. Creed
Dark Sector
The Darkness
Dead Rising
FEAR
Mirror's Edge
feel free to tell me if these are in fact not non-shitty 360 games
Mood: Lazy
Game of the Day: Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
Song of the Day: 椎名林檎 - 都合のいい身体

I actually like Dark Sector quite a bit. It's pretty much a Gears of War rip-off in that its controls are virtually identical. It's not as good, but it looks great, it's nicely varied, and it has for my money one of the coolest weapons in recent video game history. Be warned that I'm apparently in the lone minority who really enjoyed it, but I saw a copy the other day for seven bucks and it's definitely worth that. If you liked Gears, I say go for it.
I might also recommend Crackdown, which I picked up a little while ago for twelve bucks. The campaign itself kinda blows, but it's a great sandbox world that is extremely fun to explore, and it's worth playing for that. If you had a PS3 I'd recommend Infamous (which shits all over this game, frankly) but it's cheap and it doesn't suck so take that for what it's worth.
Mirror's Edge looks cool. It isn't. Trust me.
Bought Dead Rising the other day and it's failed to hold my attention, though I haven't really given the game a fair chance yet so don't take my word on it.

Dark Sector is a Gears clone? Wow, I remember seeing early previews when it was an RE4 clone and thought it still was one.

hmmmm.
dead or alive 4. the game's gotta be cheap by now.

The Last Remnant!

Last remnant is awful!
Of what I've played:
Silent Hill: Homecoming
Better than 4, but nowhere near the games that made the series.
Ass. Creed
Complete rubbish. What works is repeated non stop until it becomes drab, and what doesn;t work is fetured as the vast majority.
The Darkness
The game's very pretty. This doesn;t stop it from being boring, though.
Dead Rising
I should have loved this game, but I just found it dull. Runs out of steam quick, never recovers.
Mirror's Edge
Scores points for trying to be different and looking pretty cool. There's parts of the game which are just point blank great -- but they're mixed in with a lot of redundancey.

Last Remnant looks like the kind of game I'd completely miss the point of.
