The other day, I was in bed with my girlfriend and we were playing New Super Mario Bros. We were alternating between levels and I was up. I got almost to the end of the level when I jumped poorly and went down a chasm. In frustration and embarassment (because I had cockily ensured my girlfriend that I would in fact dominate the level), I slammed my fist down onto, what I thought, was the bed. I ended up hitting the bed frame, and my thumb nail turned instantly black. It hurt like hell.

This was almost a month ago too, and I just took this picture tonight. I suspect that the thumb nail's going to fall off pretty soon.

You should seriously get that checked out.

That happened to me once after I was hammering a nail and missed. It fell off after three days I think.

I lost one of my fingernails in a similar fashion, just with a car door. You ought to get it fixed before it gets infected.

That nail looks pretty bad. If it were me, I'd just rip it off because I'm manly like that.

Go to a doctor. Not because that itself looks so horrible, but because you really do not want a nailbed infection. Ask my big toe.

That said, if the nail falls off, go downtown and drop in some change-begging homeless guy's cup.

Generally, I really don't like going to the doctor. I think the nail is about to fall off anyway. I can see nail bed at the base of my nail now, up around the cuticle. I think it's any day. As for your suggestion blu, I think I'll just do that.
