Oldies 104.3 always was a great radio station in Chicago, before Jack FM took over and fired the great Dick Biondi. I remember as a 15-year-old who knew little or nothing about oldies, I studied and memorized hard and soon even named that 10:43 mystery tune well over half the time. The DJ's didn't talk too much but always enjoyed things. And one all-request night back around 2000 is this memorable exchange:
"Hi, who's this?"
"This is Jenny!"
"Jenny, where you from? How old are you?"
"I'm from xxx and I'm 19."
"HEEEEYYYYY!! You like RICKY MARTIN?!?!" (plays "La Vida Loca" in the background)
The song I have below is one of the first mystery tunes I heard and I maybe heard it once then. Google is wonderful. The other song I remember--and one of the few I can't find the lyrics to--is one where a guy said "I'm way out, man. I'm too much." Well, I've found 99.9% of the songs here.
