Final Fantasy X HD will be a remaster, not a remake
We still don't know many details about the PS3 and Vita version of Final Fantasy X that was announced at the Tokyo Game Show last fall, but we can finally confirm what most of us probably already assumed.
Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto was at the Taipei Game Show recently and gave a very frank answer when asked whether the new version of Final Fantasy X would be a remake or a remastered port, along the lines of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection or Ico/Shadow of the Colossus Collection. It will, in fact, be a remastered version of the PS2 game with spiffy new HD graphics.
And that's all. We literally know nothing else about Final Fantasy X HD at this point in time, though that may change soon. The official Twitter account for Square Enix's First Production Department recently changed its avatar to a picture of the Theathrhythm version of Tidus with the Japanese phrase for "X is next" floating above his head. Maybe we'll finally learn a few details soon.
