Demon's Souls celebrates holiday season with Pure White World Tendency
Many gamers are still probably wasting away in this year's Dark Souls, but Atlus is hoping folks haven't forgotten about the torturous RPG's predecessor, the PlayStation 3-exclusive Demon's Souls. The publisher today announced the original Souls game is getting a holiday-themed gameplay twist in what they're dubbing "Pure White World Tendency." (Let's call it PWWT from now on, mkay?)
With PPWT, Atlus' plan is to "ease the game's difficulty and unlock otherwise unaccessible areas and items." PWWT will last from today through Jan. 2.
That sounds pretty nice of Atlus, indeed, considering Demon's Souls is known for being just as controller-crushingly difficult as its sequel. So if there are any enemies you've avoided like the plague (babies), now might be the time to finally best them and get some previously unattainable loot along the way. (And if you've avoided the game altogether, you might want to take advantage of its current $19.99 MSRP.)
"[PWWT] further demonstrates the publishers ongoing commitment to the game and its loyal community," said the Atlus press release announcing the event.
Now, if only they'd reimburse that loyal community for all of their broken television sets, controllers and, well, souls.
